About UK Uni Finder
Helping Canadian and American students navigate UK university admissions โ from first search to offer day.
Our Mission
UK Uni Finder exists to give Canadian and American students a clear, honest, and up-to-date guide to studying at a British university. We cover everything from how the UCAS application works and what a competitive A-level equivalent looks like, to the real costs of studying abroad and what it takes to return home and practice a regulated profession.
We are not a recruitment agency. We do not earn referral fees from universities. Our only goal is to give you the information you need to make the right decision for your future.
Why We Built This
The UK has some of the world's best universities. Getting there as a North American student is harder than it should be.
The UK system is opaque to North Americans
UCAS, UCAS Tariff points, clearing, conditional offers, term dates that start in September โ the UK admissions process is unlike anything Canadian or American students have encountered. Most guides assume you already understand the basics.
Information is scattered and hard to trust
University websites are written for domestic students. Rankings vary wildly depending on which league table you read. Reddit threads go out of date. We built a single, North-American-focused resource that explains things clearly.
The pathway home is rarely explained
Many students want to know: if I study medicine, law, or veterinary science in the UK, can I come back and practice in Canada or the US? That answer is complicated โ and we cover it honestly.
What the Site Covers
- โUniversity profiles for every major UK institution
- โSubject guides for Medicine, Law, Veterinary Science, and more
- โCity guides covering student life, cost of living, and travel
- โTools: UCAS Points Converter, Cost Calculator, and more
- โBlog articles covering admissions, finance, visas, and student life
Keeping It Current
University tuition fees, entry requirements, and rankings change every year. We update our university profiles and subject guides regularly, drawing from official university publications, UCAS data, and UK government sources. Where information may be out of date, we say so clearly and direct you to the original source to verify.
If you spot something that needs correcting, please get in touch. We take accuracy seriously and respond to corrections promptly.
Who Built This
UK Uni Finder was built independently by a North American who went through the UK university process and saw firsthand how hard it was to find clear, trustworthy guidance written for students from Canada and the US. The site is not affiliated with any university, UCAS, the UK government, or any admissions consultancy.
We are a small, independent project. We believe students deserve honest information โ not glossy marketing material โ to make one of the most important decisions of their lives.
